Hey there! Pretty busy on this end, things are finally calming down....
I snapped a string on my Westover therapy harp, so...no rounds at the hospital this week - and I can't use my other harps either, I have to use that particular one because of the sound quality. Have to wait for the extra set of strings to come in the mail. I'm Kicking myself for not having an extra set of strings ON HAND for that particular harp, but I am taking the snapped string as a sign that I ....need...to...slow...down....
Anyway, sounds like you and Danielle had a great vacation! How long were you guys away?

That's no fun. You had to order new strings? There's nowhere you can just buy 'em? Anyway, good to hear things are finally cooling down for ya.
Yup, we did. We were away for about a week and a half... (Counts days).. 10 days. It was fun. I haven't been out there for a while, it really is beautiful out there. And I have family in Fredericton who we went to visit. Twas a good time. ;D

Unfortunately, yeah I had to special order them. Not just any music store carries them, and New York has a bunch of places that cater to pedal harps, but not the little therapy one I have. I tried to use one of the extra strings meant for the Dusty Strings harp...but it's a much bigger harp, so that didn't work, the wrapped string wasn't the right size for the little harp - if that makes any sense. Oh well.
Oh. If any of you guys ever get married and by some freak chance you want me or any other harpist to play for your wedding...for the love of God *don't* get married in July!!!! Unless everything is taking place *inside*
I just played two weddings back to back (same street, same town, what a coincidence) one was in a church with NO AC and the other was an outside cocktail party. It was just tooooo damn hot, for me, for the harp - which kept falling out of tune. I'm surprised the poor brides didn't collapse from heat stroke. Or the other girls. Made me wonder if they were slipping ice cubes down each others' dresses, hahaha.

Lol! Ya really, It's been hot as hell here to the last couple of days. And when (and if) I marry, it's sure as hell gonna be somewhere in the Tropics, or Europe. ;D
And it was our first long vacation together, we'd gone on a couple weekend type trips before, but ya, I'd say it was our first "Vacation" together. And it was nice, thanks! ;D

Tropics eh? One of the best weddings I've been to was my friend Sue's - they did a quick wedding in Anguilla (her husband to be was in the Navy and about to be shipped to Sicily) I know I just bitched about the heat, but the ceremony was on the beach, we were in our bathing suits and sarongs and afterwards we went for a swim or went out in the boat. It was over 100 degrees, but we were comfortable.

But yeah, that's a good idea, you can start the honeymoon right away. I'd get married in Europe, but I'd pick October. Anyway, if you've had your first long vacation together and you're *still* going strong, and it's sounds like you are that's a very VERY good sign. Sometimes it's a make it or break it - I've had one experience that almost ended in disaster.
