Alright, here is a list of people you can be, go to www.sg1archive.com/characters/a.shtml and select the letter for each character to read more about them cause I wont write much of a description:
Col O'neill: The leader of SG-1 he retired from the military, but when they asked him to join the top secret stargate program, he couldn't resist. Excels at everything (except technical stuff)
Teal'c: Formerly the First Prime of Apophus (who is bad) he learned that Apophus was not actually a god, and he joined the SGC to help them defeat the Gou'ld. He is now good friends with them all. He is also in SG-1
Dr Jackson: An archaeologist, he was the one who diciefered the stargate and got it working. Excels at everything, especially languages and ancient ruins and stuff. He is in SG-1
Major Carter: She is a scientist in the Military who is pretty much the smartest person in the SGC. She can fix just about anyhting, and is an excellent shot. She is a member of SG-1
Gen. Hammond: He is the ranking officer in the SGC and is in command of it. He never goes offworld, but he calls all the shots, and is very good at what he does.
Thor: An alien known as an Asgard, he is good friends with SG-1, particularily O'neill. His race is EXTREMELY advanced, and they helped Earth build its first ship, the Prometheus. (If you wanna be him, I suggest you read up a lil bit
)
Now for a few bad guys (if you wanna be one, I would do a lil reading up first):
Apophus: He is one of the first Gou'lds that SG-1 encountered (So you know Gou'lds are little worms that crawl inside someones body, and take control of it. They are intelligent parasites, that use their technology to pose as gods to less advanced races [like the jaffa] and make them serve for them)
Anubis: Another Gou'ld, he is partially ascended (another complecated character, you might not want to be him..) and thus very powerful. He has no face, just a cloud of darkness under his hood. He poses like a god (like all Gou'lds do) and has a very powerful fleet and army.
