My Grandma's neighbors are die-hard fans. There was LOTS of partying going on after the game....oh and it doesn't get dark till 10pm - ish, Edmonton is pretty far north

LOL!
Did you actually watch the game? Probably not, you would've needed to buy tickets WAY in advance.
Anyone watch the Stanley Cup Final last night? I did, and what a game it was. I'm sorta happy, sort of not. I wanted Edmonton to win (because their Canadian, UhDUUUUUUH) but I also didn't want them to win, because back before the playoffs, I made a (VERY expensive) bet with my friend, who is a huge oilers fan, that Edmonton WOULDN'T win the cup. This was way back when they were in the 8th seat. The 8th seat for christ's sake! The odds were way in my favour back then.
But hey, it was close, kept me on my toes. Lost some sleep over that one. Good game though.

Yep, I watched the game - on TV at my Grandma's apartment. People were paying 2 grand for scalper tickets! I think just about everyone in Edmonton was either at Rexall or had their TVs on. The game was just starting when I left the hospital (lots of patients were watching it too!) and I caught the rest of it when I got back to the apartment. Didn't catch all of last night's game, I was exhausted from my trip, so I crashed early. I'm not a huge hockey fan, but it's fun to watch! PCO, you lucked out! After seeing the game Saturday night, it looked like they were going to get the cup. But sometimes a "Cinderella story" doesn't pan out.
It was a short trip, but I think I got somewhere with Grandma. She's in better spirits. We played cards and she beat me, so I don't think there's too much to worry about. She always kicks my ass at cards. Then again she likes to change the rules from time to time.
Brought home a nice stash of Cadbury chocolate ;D The U.S. does NOT have the variety that England and Canada does!

Story time. It's been awhile. Aaaaaaah! *insert Xandir’s numerous Omigods here* that was my inside voice just awhile ago with tonight’s experience in my harp therapy internship at the hospital. Technically I don’t have green-light from my instructor to play for patients yet (I need a “contact hour” with a mentor first). I’m only playing in the waiting area for now. But this lady caught me in the common area and BEGGED me to play for her father who is very very ill. I explained I wasn’t ready yet, but she kept insisting. I tried to explain the program policy, but when she looked like she was going to cry I finally agreed. She called me an angel from God and whisked me upstairs…to ICU. Whoa. ICU? ?? Well, I did the best I could. I played in pedantic mode (you can hit any note and it will sound pretty) so I could watch her father’s reaction, thus making sure it wasn’t too much for him, too loud, too fast. He was very ill and frail but he was able to listen and speak a little bit. I played for about ten minutes. Words cannot describe what this was like, but I had locked eyes with him for awhile there while I played. I don’t know HOW I did this without getting choked up (that happened later) but I felt like I connected with him. I immediately called my instructor and told her what happened. I felt like I had gone WAY over the line. I felt driven to, this lady was insistent and her father could be on his way out for all I know! First she said. “You were thrown in the deep end, huh?” Then she said, “don’t worry, you’re not in trouble, but you need that contact hour ASAP, so that you can officially be up and running.” *Whew* I'm going to bed.

Mr. N, yeah, I’m sorry man. I am having a good summer, but it’s also been a busy one. With family stuff and friends stuff (who are my extended family), my internship and all the other stuff that life throws at you, I have a full plate. If you’ve seen the back and forth threads I have on the other board, those were created at work during very boring down-times, then I post them later when I check email (I can’t log on at work). I don't mean to ignore this board, I still love it here, I just haven't had time to chat, not even on IM. And yeah, go figure, I’m fucking bored to tears at work but running amok like a headless chicken when I’m NOT at work. Anyway I’m sorry I haven’t been on here much. You probably already saw this, but if you haven’t... www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/Btw, I know you’re not a Superman fan, but *I* for one am pumped to see this movie! Just as long they don’t show Kevin Spacey’s vagina

LOL!!!!!!! the only reason I don't like Superman is because he can do anything well of course that's why they call him SUPERMMAN but he doesn't have a weakness but krptonite even real people can stop super heroes if they were real but Superman Krptonite is the only way bastard I hate him. And yeah I saw the Spider-Man 3 preview I love Marvel and Spider-man is my favorite super hero and I am so HYPE and I can't wait till this movie comes out I can watch the preview over and over again I watched it 20 times now. Lorelei check out this video it's about Marvel heroes and how there going to go againist each other. youtube.com/watch?v=_FtKIKQIHv4&search=Marvel%20Civil%20War

Hey people! *Reading Up* Sounds pretty deep, as Mr. N said. But those can be rewarding experiences.
I have also been busy as hell, and I'm sorry about that. Stuff with Family, Danielle, Work, and then CANADA DAY. So I know my excuse isn't as good as Claraclock's or Lorelei's, but hey, I'm back now.
And I saw the new Superman film, and it was really good.
