Hey there PCO! Hail hail, the gang's all here.
Yeah, Superman was great. I noticed the frequent nods to the Richard Donner versions. Kevin Spacey made a great Lex Luthor IMO.
Oh, and I liked that line "Um....weren't there *two* dogs?"

Yup, the band is officially back together!
And ya, that part was funny. My favourite part was the Plane/Shuttle scene. That was NADS! And his line "I hope this hasn't turned any of you off flying. Statisticly, it's still the safest way to travel." Cracked me up. The part where he gets shot in the eye was cool to.

That line was almost *exact* to his line from Superman I after the helicopter accident. That Plane/Shuttle scene blew that one away, damn they were even experiencing weightlessness for a moment there!
*tap* *tap* is this thing on? anyone home?
Lol, well, like I said, it IS summer and everyone is out. And that's how it should be. Hope everyone is having a good one!

Well that was awhile ago. no more summer cold. Hey, 12 Karma points! Last I looked I think I had 9. Thanks whoever gave them to me! *sigh* Nice to have a little lift. So for the first time in many many years I am missing Pennsic - the annual medieval camping event in PA. The time I was planning to go conflicts with my last harp therapy class (this weekend) and it's just not worth it to only go to the event for 2-3 days, especially since it's a 6-7 hour drive. Was contemplating flying though, but common sense is telling me to just skip it altogether this year, because if I were to go, I wouldn't want to leave. And my vacation time is almost maxed out. I'm trying to comfort myself with the fact that I'm giving up the event for a good cause, and I did get to go to Italy, Mexico and L.A. this year. But dammit, I'm stilled bummed about it! At least not ALL my friends went, and we're wallowing in things air conditioning, and ample amounts of hot water...if I could just get my teleportation device working, all would be perfect. But I would probably fuck it up and show up somewhere with 3 arms and no legs.

Or maybe you'll end up like in The Fly. Anywho, to bad about that. Don't get to upset though. It's not like you spat in their face and said "NO! I'M NOT GOING! I HATE YOU, I'VE ALWAYS HATED YOU THE MOST!". THAT would be bad. As long as you understand, and they understand, that you wanted to go, but simply couldn't, there's no harm done! Voila!

LOL!! Thanks, and yeah...I'm over it. I managed to keep myself occupied with my internship program - which was the main reason why I was skipping it this year. I missed some beautiful weather...but I'm glad I missed all the crazy drama that sometimes occur at these events - couples splitting up, people getting crazy and violent, yadda yadda, it was especially BAD this year - what the fuck are all the planets lining up or something?? Sheesh.
A friend called me the other day to rant about her mother-in-law and how it might destroy her marriage, this woman just likes to make everyone's life a living hell, then she said "You are SO lucky, Laura, YOU don't have to deal with this kind of baggage". Amen. Glad I stuck to my guns all these years, followed my gut instincts, and remained really clear on what was important to me. If I marry (I'm not ruling it out) I'm going to be very VERY careful and smart about my decision...because when you marry someone, you usually marry their family. Part of the reason why I'm "chicken" is because my parents divorced when I was 13 & bitchy and then they each remarried. Seems to be the norm these days!!
Anyway this was my answer to her!
"Oh yeah, that's RIGHT! It sure doesn't suck to ME right now, does it? Wow...thanks for reminding me...I'm wallowing in this ultimate happiness right now...wallow wallow wallow...like a happy pig in a mud pit. Okay, I'm done.....NO I'M NOT, wallow wallow wallow...nyah nyah."
And that cracked her up ;D

Lol! Ya, marriage can suck sometimes. I think I'm gonna try to stick to my guns on that one. But what I say I'm going to do really has no real value . I think the biggest problem is that if something does go wrong, you've sort of got yourself in a hole. It's easy to get into but tough to get out of. Like Quicksand! Not the most poetic comparison, but hey ;D . Anyway, I'm just as happy (in my opinion, more happy) then pretty much everyone I know who is in one. So, what would I really have to gain? Anyways, enough blabber from me for now.

Quicksand...um, that's about right! One of my oldest friends has been living with her boyfriend for nine years now, they are still very much in love and they also have their own things they like to do, they aren't attached at the hip. Her family has been after them to get married, but they won't. They don't see the point. And I they might be a little hesitant of the paper thing. I don't know for sure. She might be, as he has some baggage he has to deal with every so often, and it doesn't drain her or weigh her down any from what I can see. As long as they are happy and comfortable...it's all good.

Ya, I know a few people who have done something similar. I think it could be a better bet. But hey, it varies from person to person I think. I think it sort of has to do with Religous beliefs to. I have a good friend who is very religous, and I can't see him NOT tieing the knot when the oppurtunity arises.
I dunno though. I'm sort of on the fence on this sorta stuff. Modern marriage isn't what it used to be. It's always changing. I read this really interesting article on Love in National Geographic, and how it's actually like a disease, because of the chemical imbalances it creates in the brain, and the obsession that results.
But in the end, I think it might not be possible to come to a conclusion on something so complex as Love and marriage. It always has confused us. And I'm fine with that. ;D
